Design and illustrations for the LAP’s graphic campaign, an illustrated festival organized by the Tarragona School of Art dedicated each year to a different social theme.
The 2020’s festival seeks to vindicate the role of women in the history of art, and the graphic campaign emphasizes the dismantling of the image of women as a passive object to transform it into an active subject of history.
Through two different posters, we see two examples of how women has been perceived historically: Botticelli’s Venus and Goya’s Naked Maja. Their attitude, however, is active instead of passive.
Another important element of the campaign are the flowers that surround women: the apex, the calendula and the white nettle, traditionally used by healers to cure women’s pain.
